The Rocket locomotive was one of the first steam locomotives developed that actually carried passengers and operated using a scheduled arrival and departure time. The Rocket operated in 1829 carrying passengers and freight between Liverpool and Manchester England. The Rocket was one of many technological innovations from the dawn of the industrial revolution replacing horse drawn wagons with new mechanical “horse-power”.
